You’ve missed the real point while playing poker!
It’s all about ATTITUDE and smelling really good because no one wants to literally or figuratively stink while playing at the tables.
I think I have enough of both, where I will do well in this tourney. Maybe one or both of your teammates would want to join me after I get some rest?
I’m not as good as I once was but I still think I’m good enough!
BTW, I figure by 5 p.m. ET we’re all going to know the answer to Tina’s question in her classic song.
An aside, I swear her backup dancers have stolen my signature HS and early 20’s dance moves starting around the 2:55 mark.
It’s always something to witness when the RTC kicks off. 54 teams entered the arena this time, and from the very start, the tension was thick. Every table had something going on, bluffs, big hands, lucky rivers, and brutal knockouts.
By the halfway mark, it was clear a few teams were starting to separate themselves from the pack. One Eyed Jacks & The Man with the Axe played like they’d shown up with a plan and stuck to it. They weren’t flashy, just solid, and every time you looked, they were adding to their total. They ended up at the top with 136 points, but it was closer than it looked.
Outlanders kept pace almost the whole way. There were moments it looked like they might overtake the leaders, but a few late hands didn’t go their way. Still, finishing second in a field this deep is no small thing. They were tough from start to finish.
Le Facteur de Bière stayed under the radar early but pushed their way into third by the end. Nothing about their run seemed accidental. They made the right moves when it counted. Same for GRRRR, who seemed to quietly climb the ladder without much fuss. Before anyone noticed, they were sitting in fourth.
The middle of the top 10 was a dogfight. Wolfpack and Warrior Queens both had stretches where they looked unstoppable. Their momentum came in waves, and it was enough to keep them in the hunt.
Then came Arepa Power, Bingo Killers, and the 3 AMIGOS, all finishing strong to round out the ten. These weren’t dominant performances, but they were determined ones. It was about grinding out enough points to stay alive while everyone else was trying to play catch-up.
Looking at the full list, you can tell how tough this field really is. Just getting into the top ten out of 54 teams took some effort. And this is only the first round.
It’s a long road to the championship, but the first steps have been taken.
Best of luck to all the teams,
And may the best 3 Amigos win
